What is your experience?
My team and I have years of experience designing WordPress based custom websites for both American and European businesses. See more details below.
How do I create them...
After an initial meeting either via phone or Skype, I will provide an estimate for your project. The estimate is based on our discussion and initial scope of the project.
Discovery Session:
The next step is the "Discovery Session" which digs deeper into the key details, objectives, and motives of the project. By now I have a better feel for your product, services, brand and direction.Planning: This phase builds the infrastructure of your site's overall design (aka a Sitemap), the layout of pages (wireframe), and any other details. The purpose of this phase is to keep me and my tam on track with my agreed upon direction.
Initial Design:This is the phase when the design is fully captured based on all information gathered. A prototype design, in the form of mockups, will be submitted to you for review. This is an initial look at the site and often results in some changes, but is a good indication of the final product.
Coding & Development:At this point, I am ready to turn the web site design into your actual online pressence front end design. Doing so includes ensuring it works on all screens from PCs to the variety of mobile and tablet devices. Content Management Systems (CMS) is implemented either through WordPress or via custom.
Content:Quality website content is critical to the success of a website. Whether I write it for you or you supply the content, I will assess it in relation to your new site. Should you choose to write it? I can still offer guidance with online presence, especially for certain sections. Alternatively, you have the option of using my team and me for copywriting services.
Review:This is when the curtain comes up and your new website is shown to you. I use private links with passwords, so it's still private. The purpose here is to finalize any last minute tweaks before going live.
Go Live:Your website is ready for public viewing! Once I receive the 50% final payment, I push the Go Live button, and your site is available to the world. Naturally everyone's project is unique, but the above outlines the typical flow and details of a project.
How do I know I'm really getting a custom WordPress website design?
There are many template-driven designers out there. I pride myself on not using a plug and play approach because I know the value of a customize site. I can recognize when a site is built with a template, as there are signs to indicate a "cookie cutter" design. They lack quality, creativity, and most of all the specific branding that makes your company unique. You can find above an overview of our process to deliver a truly custom website design. There are no short-cuts in our services.
I’m still confused about bespoke design versus ready-made template, which route should I adopt?
Essentially, you're deciding between a template that is used by everyone else, including your competition, or letting me create a design that speaks to your specific business and brand. If you go with a template based site, you will likely outgrow it rather quickly. A customized one provides longevity and sustainability as your company grows or continues. Still confused? Can you redesign my current and very outdated WP template?
My team and I pride ourselves on making bespoke WordPress designs. We love working with our clients in the realm of WordPress installation, layout configurations, customizations, theme development and plugin support. It's your choice between our premium WordPress design theme or a fully customized site. Let me know which you prefer and I can help.
Can you turn my basic HTML website domain into a WordPress powered website?
Absolutely. WordPress' use of CMS allows me to design a site that is basic or very complex, depending on your needs. I can use the features in WordPress that best address your needs and integrate them with your current site. Alternatively, I can redesign the entire site. It depends on your requirements.
Can you code a Photoshop PSD file into WordPress?
Yes,I do this often and will send a properly coded, updated version in the format you need. My custom-built developed Word Press-ready versions always meet the following requirements:
- Cross Browser / device Compatible
- SEO & Speed Optimized
- W3C Valid HTML & CSS
- Free jQuery sliders/tabs & non-web fonts
What are your priorities as a web designer?
I make user-friendly sites a priority. This is supported by a recent poll on HubSpot reported that 76% of users said the most important part of a web site is “The site makes it easy for me to find what I want.” Only 10% actually rated aesthetics as the most important aspect of a site. Content organization was the top concern, ranking over creativity.
What If I find bug in my WordPress web page?
Some bugs are easy enough for clients to address, but if it's my bug or too complicated, contact me to fix it. If you find a bug in your site, email me the information and let me know if you want me to fix it.
Would you charge for fixing the bug on my site?
That depends on the bug itself. If the bug is unrelated to my team work of custom WordPress website design, then yes. If it's a mistake on our end, then there is no charge to fix it.
Are your custom WordPress website design mobile-friendly?
Yes they are mobile-friendly, I recommend responsive layouts for visibility and appearance on different screen types. With the growing number of mobile device users, these sites are becoming more and more popular and in demand.
Do I really need a responsive custom WordPress website design?
The need for a responsive WordPress website design will depend on your needs and audience. If your audience is more likely to search from a mobile device, than yes, a responsive site is needed. If they are likely to search from a PC, then you're not as likely to need one. Once I evaluate your needs, I can give you a better assessment.
What if my images are low quality?
Yes they are mobile-friendly, I recommend responsive layouts for visibility and appearance on different screen types. With the growing number of mobile device users, these sites are becoming more and more popular and in demand.
Are your bespoke WordPress websites SEO-friendly?
The need for a responsive WordPress website design will depend on your needs and audience. If your audience is more likely to search from a mobile device, than yes, a responsive site is needed. If they are likely to search from a PC, then you're not as likely to need one. Once I evaluate your needs, I can give you a better assessment.
Do you work on other Open Source systems?
Yes. I also work on OsCommerce and Magento for eCommerce sites. OsCommerce is an eCommerce and online store management program that is used on any webserver and contains both MySQL and PHP. I mostly use it for web based designs, and it's free on the GNU General Public License.
Writing is not my forte. How can I possibly write content for my website launch?
The majority of people have difficulty writing their own content. I provide a solution. Options include allowing me to write unique web page content, press releases, case studies, and can even offer industry specific articles.
